About Lola Cater Foundation
About Us
This initiative exists to address fundamental human needs: food, clothing, shelter, the right to education, and access to employable skills.
Our Story
Who, Why & Where
Lola Cater Foundation is a non-governmental organization founded in response to the rising rates of poverty, limited access to quality education, child labor, and unemployment across Nigeria. The vision was carried forward by a group of young Nigerians led by Miss Ololade Ogunnubi, the Foundation's founder, who has been passionate about humanitarian work from an early age.
Delivering on that vision required a team defined by honesty, integrity, and accountability, which became the foundation for LCF's Board of Trustees, executives, and volunteers who run the organization today.

Mission
We are committed to improving the human rights and socio-economic development of disadvantaged people in Africa.
- Entrepreneurship skills that eradicate poverty and open pathways to sustainable livelihoods
- Formal and informal education for underserved and vulnerable children
- Social welfare support — food, clean water, healthcare, and shelter — for rural, displaced, and orphaned communities
Vision
We envision a society where citizens are empowered with the right skills to reduce poverty and address human rights and humanitarian needs.
- A generation of transformational leaders driving change across Africa
- Sustainable, skills-based solutions that reduce poverty at its root
- Communities where human rights and humanitarian needs are protected
Our Goals
What We Are Working Towards
Our work is guided by six broad goals.
Expand Access
Increase access to education, skills, technology, information and opportunities for underserved populations.
Build Human Capacity
Equip children, young people, women and communities with knowledge, skills, confidence and networks to thrive.
Strengthen Communities
Support communities to identify challenges, develop solutions and participate meaningfully in their own development.
Advance Inclusion
Create opportunities for people who are often excluded from mainstream systems because of poverty, displacement, gender, disability, geography or other barriers.
Connect People to Opportunity
Build bridges between individuals and the institutions, networks, resources and platforms that can accelerate their growth.
Influence Sustainable Development
Work with government, development partners, private-sector organisations and communities to contribute to solutions that can scale.
Our Approach
How We Create Impact
Human-Centred
We begin with people, not assumptions.
Community-Driven
Communities are participants in solutions, not simply beneficiaries.
Partnership-Led
We bring institutions and expertise together.
Evidence-Informed
We use information, experience and learning to improve programmes.
Inclusive
We create opportunities across backgrounds, gender, geography and ability.
Sustainable
We focus on building capacity and systems rather than short-term intervention alone.
Governance & Accountability
Built on Trust, Guided by Accountability
Lola Cater Foundation is guided by a Board of Trustees and a leadership team committed to sound financial management, transparent programme delivery, and the protection of everyone we serve.
